There is no correct fixed interval. The decision depends on remaining teak thickness, exposure, cleaning practices, wear, seam condition and the result expected by the owner. A deck should be sanded because its condition requires it, not simply because a number of years has passed. Before recommending sanding, we assess whether the visual improvement justifies the timber that will be removed.

Usually not. Greying is primarily a surface weathering process and does not by itself prove that the deck has reached the end of its life. Replacement is considered only after checking the remaining thickness, seam condition, local adhesion, movement and substrate. We inspect before recommending sanding, repair or replacement.

Yes. When the surrounding deck remains structurally sound and sufficient teak thickness is available, individual planks can often be replaced without rebuilding the complete deck. The feasibility depends on deck construction, seam condition and the overall condition of the installation.

The price depends on the actual deck area, teak thickness and specification, complexity of the plank layout, substrate condition, access, installation system, shipyard constraints and project schedule. A reliable quotation requires drawings, measurements or an on-board survey. A simple square-metre rate cannot accurately represent a complete yacht deck project. Following the initial review, we identify the information or survey required to issue a technically meaningful quotation.

Not necessarily. Where the deck geometry and project conditions allow, templating and a significant part of the fabrication can be completed before the yacht enters the shipyard. This reduces work on board and can substantially shorten the installation phase. The final programme depends on deck area, substrate condition, access, curing times and coordination with the other refit trades.

Duration depends on the actual deck area, geometry, condition, access, weather protection and coordination with other trades. A local repair or controlled sanding intervention may require only a few days. Complete replacement involves survey, engineering, timber preparation, workshop fabrication and installation, and must therefore be scheduled project by project. Every quotation includes a provisional execution programme and the assumptions on which it is based.

Yes. Our operational base is on the Côte d'Azur, and we can mobilise internationally for projects whose scale, technical scope and schedule justify the intervention. Workshop prefabrication can reduce the duration and complexity of remote installation work.

Yes. We can take responsibility for a defined teak work package within a refit or new-build programme, with direct coordination regarding access, interfaces, sequencing, quality control and handover requirements.

We purchase teak through documented professional supply chains and prioritise straight-grained, quarter-sawn boards. Visible sapwood is excluded from exposed deck surfaces. The available origin, legality and traceability documentation is reviewed according to the selected batch and the requirements of the project.

Use clean water and a soft brush, working gently across the grain when brushing is necessary. Avoid pressure washing, hard brushes, aggressive chemicals and repeated deep cleaning. The correct routine depends on the yacht's use and exposure, and care recommendations are provided after the intervention.
